Nice little tool set, clearly designed for folks with space considerations or only a minor need for tools. Attractive and they seem well built, but I didn't put them through a torture test or anything like that.
The hammer has a rather stubby handle, so it's not really good for all day heavy work, but even pro carpenters occ want a stubby. There's also a short adjustable wrench, and a multi-bit screwdriver.
What is nice is the two little boxes full of fasteners and hardware- designed heavily for hanging pictures, etc.3 sizes of screws and anchors for all of them, and in the other box, some mild steel wire, screw eyes and picture hangers (brass coloured) with the appropriate nails. The package says there are supposed to be some 50 or so "common nails" in various sizes, but the only nails included are the ones for the picture hangers- which of course could work for everyday light usage. I think I'd like to see less picture hanging hardware and add back in those "common nails" that are listed. The boxes are clear, with 5 compartments and snap shut.
This might make a good housewarming gift or for someone just moving into their first new apartment.
The package also says they have a "Lifetime Warranty".

I know most will like the flowery pattern. I didn't particularly because it makes the set look decorative but I don't want it around if its not also practical. This set IS practical but if you want people to take you seriously, you have to look the part, no? As for the tools themselves, they are solid with mostly comfortable handles. The handles are short and some have noted this makes them easier to use in tight spaces. The short handles ALSO make them easier to store in a convenient location like a kitchen drawer, which is a plus. As a homeowner, you are likely going to want/need a more extensive tool kit for the many different types of things that come up, so I would not recommend this to someone thinking this is all they're ever going to need. But for a child leaving for college, this would make a great set to keep in their dorm room, or for someone moving into their first apartment - both situations where they are not likely to need to tackle major home improvements, but just need a little set around for the odd things that come up. Oh - and the little boxes of nails, screws and picture hangers are a great addition to the kit. It is so frustrating to not be able to complete a small task because you need to stop and drive to the hardware store to buy a couple of fasteners. Having a variety of them right there is a great idea.
